UMFA Docent Celebration Project

Since 1978, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts Docent Council has generously supported the Museum’s educational aims within our galleries and communities. By providing tours, creating conversations, leading art-making, serving as art advocates, and teaching classes, UMFA volunteer docents facilitate dynamic, meaningful art experiences for visitors of all backgrounds and ages. Many docents serve for multiple years—even decades—and their dedication, passion, and altruism are what we celebrate via this digital space. It is our hope that by preserving the records and recollections from our Docent Council members past and present, we may honor their generosity and the crucial role they play in connecting our communities with art.
